So since today is national coming out day, I guess I will. I am bi-sexual. I don't really even know what that means, except that I have a wider range of people that I'm attracted to than say, a straight person would. I just like people for who they are. I'm not attracted to a specific gender. I don't really like labels. I don't want to be called gay, or lesbian, or bi-sexual. I don't want to be called anything except Aly. or Alex. or whatever you know me as. This coming out is more for me, than for you. So I can be confident and comfortable with who I am, not so you can be comfortable with who I am. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, because I have an amazing support system that has been there for me since last summer when I first starting having doubts about who I was and what I wanted. Thank you for being there for me, you all mean the world to me.
In case you're curious, I'm not offended by the word gay. Although, if you call anyone the word faggot, despite their sexual orientation, that's where I draw the line. It's a horrible, disgusting word, and I don't think it's necessary in the English vernacular.
I don't really have that much more to say about it. I'm not here to like, crusade over it. It is what it is. I hope you can find the inspiration to be happy with who you are, no matter who that person is, like I did.
one love;;
my big;;
and my best friend.
Since I haven't posted since the summer, I wanted to now that I'm back into the full swing of things at school. I was actually inspired by my friend Morag to post again, because I read her amazingly inspiring blog this morning. It is also mental health awareness week, and she had the courage to tell her story on her latest post. Morag you're such a strong person and I love you.
What's happened since summer?
I moved into my off campus house with four of my best friends, and it's been crazy ever since. I live in the attic room with bex, and we have a sweet TV set up, and way too much clothes for the amount of space we have. Sofie got me addicted to Farmville 2 and I'm not even sorry about it. We have one bathroom between the 5 of us, and the world's smallest kitchen. I got the most amazing little in the world, she's perfect, and she just got initiated last night!! CONGRATS LITTLE. I love you!! I'm sorry I missed it. but ! I have my badge for you that you can have on Monday.
I sprained my ankle last semester and over the summer, and I never let it heal correctly, so when I finally got it looked at by an orthopedic this semester, the best option I had was surgery to fix it. So last friday Bex drove me to the surgical center at 6am (because she's a saint) and I got my ankle fixed. I got a sweet looking boot, and a pair of crutches, and lots of pain killers. I'm non-weight bearing until further notice, but I have an appointment on Monday, so I'll post then to letcha know what's up. It hurts sometimes, and actually, earlier today, my foot turned purple and my leg did too, and my leg had white spots on it. and the whole thing was tingly. Weird? I think so.
In other news, even though I don't play rugby right now, the rugby team kicked ass today 77-0. SO proud of you killers.
I have a software engineering midterm at 9am on Monday, and I'm home for the weekend to recover faster (or just eat ice cream and bathe in my parents extravagant bathtub, not too sure). My next plan of action is to study by making a study guide, and then sleep forever.
