L. O. V. E.

The past couple of days have been crazy. The amount of snow we received on campus has been absurd. "the winter from hell" I ironically called it today. Classes cancelled on Thursday, dug my car out of the snow. Delayed opening on Friday, dug my car out.. again.

While sitting in the trunk of my car with the hatch open, waiting my turn for the only shovel Zeta has, I took a moment to look around. Sisters helping sisters shovel their cars out, snowball fights, girls going out and buying teddy bears for one another, it was interesting to watch. Our sisterhood is genuinely whatever we make of it, and I couldn't have asked for a better one to be a part of. Valentines were made and handed out, and it made me think, even if I didn't have a typical "Valentine" for Valentine's Day, I was still thought of by somebody and loved by somebody. I suppose that's the best way to think of Valentine's Day because let's face it, we're not always going to have a Valentine. The idea of a Valentine is silly to me. Why should it be different than any other day? Does hooking up with someone on Valentine's day make it different than any day? Is there more chemistry between people on Valentine's day? Its all shit. If you like someone, you should treat them nicely every day. Just makes sense right? We should make our best friends our Valentines.

That's why Becca was my 'Valentine'. Because we love each other every day. So it wasn't different just because of the date. And also we like singing horrible duets together. I'm not all anti-Valentine's day. IF I TYPE Valentine one more time I'm gonna smash my face onto the keyboard. I bought my friends chocolates and make my sorority sisters cards and went around and taped them on their doors so they had surprise treats.

props to Emac for making this masterpiece

"smile you're at red robin"

I love loving people. It's one of my favorite things to do. It's really, genuinely hard for me to not like somebody. I'm either very fond of you(and show you frequently), or moderately indifferent toward you. and if I'm indifferent, I probably just don't know you well enough. Making connections with people is the best way to make friends. Or doing something little with just one person, making an inside joke, is an easy way to bring two people together. My way of making friends is very Kindergarten-esque. If you're nice to me, I'm nice to you.. actually I'll probably be nice to you regardless. That's just a really simple way to be. If you see people simply, then it makes things easier. If you see people with reputations and expectations and all other things clouding them, you get a foggy picture of a person, instead of a smaller, clearer one.

a quick side note..

Jealousy is not what you see, it's what you imagine.

Random but I can't get it out of my brain. The voice in my head tells me this, constantly.  Just for reassurance. I know I'm a bit of a head-case. I get caught up in there sometimes. I'm not sure if I've posted this quote before or not. but it's true. get out of your own heads for a little bit and you'll feel better.

I am a firm believer in Karma. I believe you get out what you put in. I have no reasoning behind this but experience. I'm not preaching you to believe this too, I'm just letting you know that's what runs through my head a lot of the time in my decision making.

Every 3am phone call I answer,
every ride I go out of my way to give,
every time someone starts a sentence directed at me with "Would you mind..." or "Do you think you could...",
Every person I stop to look in the eyes and ask with genuine concern "are you okay?" and listen patiently afterwards,

all of that is done with the idea of Karma. Doing good things, exuding positive energy out into the universe. The more good things that are done, the more likely good things are to come back around. And no, I'm not saying I do nice things because I'm selfish.. I don't even think that makes sense. I'm just saying, I like to try and take the high-road.

I'm a "yes" advocate. and I'm not just talking about when someone asks you for a favor. Saying yes is a damn good thing to do, as much as you can. Spontaneity, folks. Saying yes when moments ago a decision didn't even have to be made. I love it. Live for that shit. I love saying yes. It's risky sometimes, making quick decisions. But most of the time, the payoff of saying yes outweighs the risk. Saying "yes," is usually followed up in my head by "why not?" For two words, it's usually a powerful question. And my rationale of half of the things I do is usually just not being able to come up with enough answers to "why not?".

Thursday night at 2am I get a bang on my window, and it's Sasha and Sonali outside in the snow. Why they were out there is beyond me, but did I go outside and join them? Heck yes I did. Did I care that one minute I was watching Dexter in bed and the next minute I was fully geared up and rolling down a snow covered hill? No. Because it was fun. I couldn't think of a good enough reason not to.

"My clothes would be wet" clothes dry
"I'll get cold" I'll warm up when I'm done
"I'm tired" I'll sleep when I'm done

looks like I'm all out of reasons not to.. Sure, I could've rolled over, ignored them, and went back to sleep. But why not go play in the snow at 2am, right?

I was walking home Friday night from an off campus house in high heels, with a 3x size sweatshirt on over my outfit so it looked like I wasn't wearing pants, while wearing a plastic crown I found, arm in arm with Becca, who was in a red leather dress and snow boots. We crossed paths with two girls who looked easily 25, all dressed up for the bars, and they said "Happy Valentine's day!" to us in passing. For some reason those two girls and what they said made us think about how ridiculous we probably looked, and how stereotypical we probably looked. And that's when I came to this conclusion. This is the only time in our lives where this is acceptable for us to do. heck, it is EXPECTED of us. So I had this thought:

We are old enough to know better, and young enough not to care.

That's a powerful feeling. It's powerful because it gives you the right to do so many things, for such a short amount of time. The age we are right now is so precious, it's a transition period, and it's fleeting. It's a blink of an eye in the timeline of our lives. We have to take this time and run with it, no holds barred. If there was ever a time to do something ridiculous at the drop of a hat, now would be that time.

So as Kacey Musgraves says..
"make lots of noise, kiss lots of boys, or kiss lots of girls if that's something you're into. When the straight and narrow gets a little too straight, roll up a joint, or don't, just follow your arrow wherever it points."

I was having a serious case of Music-A.D.D. while trying to do work and one of my friends says "try classical music." and I got really excited! Because in the season of Dexter I've been watching, they kept mentioning Frederic Chopin, and I've been meaning to listen. Now's the perfect time. and I have to say, I dig it.

Have this set on repeat, yo. chopin for days doe.

enjoy xx

P.S. If a boy asks you to go get lunch, does that make it a date? but, better question, does it matter whether it's a date or not? Over-thinking is something I am so, so good at.

Feb 11 (12:26am) --

Never again. I preemptively drank a diet coke before doing my computer science binary bomb homework. I thought I would fall asleep before midnight when it was due. turns out, I powered through it and got it done by 10:30. MEANWHILE. I'm bouncing off the walls like I just blew a line of coke. No pun intended. Caffeine is the devil. I couldn't stop moving. can't stop won't stop. Both of my hands went completely numb in the shower. uhm, WHAT the le fuck? I got out of the shower and laid in bed with no shirt on watching netflix. What kind of person am I? Who does this?
Reasons why I should not have caffeine are clearly displayed here. Never again.. well, for another few days at least.

my new phrase? "Hop off," Short for "hop off my dick" which by definition means, step off, step down, calm down, quit harassing me, quit sassing me, check yourself before you wreck yourself, you're wrong, get off my back, get off, quit it, or back off me yo.

"vicks vapor rub is like the patronus charm"
- Mom

I can't even. like, what? I woke up this morning and text my mother ..
me: "I'm sick. My illness is killing my soul"
mom: "what's your illness like?"
me: "Soul-sucking"
mom: "yes but whats wrong?"
me: "I have a stuffy nose.."

lol. Cause I'm not a drama queen, or melodramatic at all. but in reality it was like body aches and cough and sore throat and stuffy nose and stuff. So anywayyyyyyy that's where the vick's comment came from. I still cannot explain the patronus charm simile though. Moms are the best.

I went to my binary bomb diffusing class (only class of the day) and actually paid attention and asked questions. I feel like if you don't ask questions, it's not because you understand it, it's more likely that you don't understand it well enough to ask questions. I feel that I cannot ask a question if I am super confused by it, I just sit there and stare at whatever it is like an idiot nodding my head, sometimes saying 'mhm'. So, the fact that I was asking questions meant that I was getting a grasp of things. score
Asking questions is the key to life, I'm pretty sure of it. That, and not taking shit from anyone. Two key factors. Along with not giving a shit about what people think. Along with not holding grudges, taking blame, giving credit, and manners. Saying please, thank you, and I'm sorry, at all of the appropriate times in life can and will get you SO far in life, and it's so simple. Also, I've decided that asking for forgiveness is easier than asking for permission, so whenever you're thinking about doing something you're not sure of, just do it.  And apologize later if necessary. Live for you, my friends. Do you.

"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

THIS MORNING FOR BREAKFAST. Ugh oh my god breakfast. I was running slightly late (got to class at exactly 9:20 though, no biggie), but I made myself a fresh bagel, lightly toasted, with cream cheese. It was heavenly. scrumptious. It was the most delicious thing I've ever put into my mouth. It was soft on the inside and toasty on the outside and the cream cheese was just the right amount of melty that it was the perfect start to an almost exceptional day.

I talked to my advisor today and I might be going abroad next Spring, and I might be going to a governor's school this summer. All really exciting possibilities. Ugh. I love meeting with my advisor. He's one of the greatest people I've ever known. He is the Dean of the program I'm in at Lehigh (Integrated Degree in Engineering and Arts and Sciences), my academic advisor, as well as my professor for two of my classes this semester as well as a seminar. I'm very fond of him. His has a beard that I'm pretty sure he's been growing for a while now, and would never shave not even for a million dollars. He's the most enthusiastic man I've ever met, especially at 8am. He loves what he does. He also loves the UK, which is why I love him too. He drink tea every second of every day. He always has a million anecdotes about his adorable five year old daughter Charlotte whom he calls Bubba. He gets to know his students personally, even their flaws and fortes, and actually gives a shit. Meeting with him also reinvigorates me to actually try in my classes, as well as gets me really really excited for what my future at Lehigh holds. He's a wonderful man. I'm lucky.

I went to Rite Aid today. and pumped my own gas. Pumping gas is for peasants. However, holding doors for people is not. Bought a shit-ton of Valentine's. Who knows who they're actually for though. Almost had a mental meltdown trying to decide between a three-pack of blue Chap-Stick or one Blistex green color. I went with Blistex. Bought me that vick's vapo-Rub. Mom was right. Trippy. Patronus Trippy. I made Becca try it so I wasn't alone in my trippiness.

After filling out 56 Valentines, Bex and I napped from 2:00 until 5:30. Taylor Swift playing in the background, gently lulling us to sleep. It was a magnificent nap. Glorious. Felt so good. Woke up, got dinner at the house, and had our first PC meeting of the semester. FINALLY. Now we're talking. So, Zeta is mildly less suspended than we have been. We can actually hold events and participate in intramural sports and stuff. HA so get this. Nicole is director of activities, and two of the chairs that are under her are Special Events and Intramural Sports, AKA Me and Becca. hahaha. Whoever put the three of us on a committee together, thank you. just thank you. Working with your friends can only result in two ways. 1) Near-flawlessly and you get amazing shit done like bosses, or 2) you rip each other's hair out and get nothing done. I'm hoping for number 1.

Becca and I drove to Target today in preparation for the "big snow storm" my mother keeps telling me about for Wednesday night. Guess what, THEY'RE OUT OF ICE SCRAPERS AND SHOVELS. cool. So I ask guest services to confirm the fact that they don't have ANY. Truth. So I ask, do you know anywhere around here that might have them? No. Seriously? Are you serious? You work at Target, so you have to live around here, and you don't know where in the near area I can buy a damn ice scraper? I don't care that you work for Target. Just be a decent human being and tell me where I can buy one. People get too caught up in things they're doing or affiliated with, and they forget to be people. For example, ZTA nationals / Lehigh won't let us talk to our new members still because that is just the nature of suspension. But how ASS BACKWARDS is that? We just accepted these young girls to be our new SISTERS, and we aren't allowed to speak with them or see them or meet with them or hangout with them. Honestly, everyone is so wrapped up in this suspension/sorority BULLSHIT they are forgetting that we are just people. and people have the right to talk to whoever they want. It's called freedom of speech? First amendment? ever heard of it? We're just girls. 18-21 year old girls. Honestly, we're young enough to be their daughters (the people in charge). Like think about your own kids, what if somebody told them who they could and could not associate with? We are just people. It's not fair. I understand the idea and concept of breaking rules and there being consequences for these infractions, but I do not think under the circumstances of what happened, that there is ANY reason to keep that part of the suspension prolonged with the rest of the suspension. I understand, not letting us have parties, not letting us do x, y, and z, but not being able to TALK to people? I'm sorry but that does not fly with me. Not in the slightest. I would like to sit with whoever is in charge and look at them and just be like... really? I don't even think I would have any more words than that.

So the next time you get caught up in something, just stop and remember that you are an individual. Regardless of any of your ties, nobody can take away your individual rights. and if they do try to, fuck em.

Took a late-night trip to the library to get some work done, turns out I only have one mid-term next week. hahaha. My life is a joke. My other exam is a take home exam we have a week to do, and my other two classes don't have midterms, only finals. LOLz. In comparison, Becca sitting across from me at the library with her typical furrowed-brow-becca-face has FIVE midterms. I'm so sorry that you have to associate with me for the next two weeks while you have these finals and I don't. I'll buy you ice cream or something. Love meee.

Plans for the future? Go to the gym (lol maybe a mile on the treadmill and some abs), go to sleep, and wake up for our (probably) last day of classes this week depending on the impending snow storm. Fingers crossed.
I need this shirt

Holy Ground

A little T-swift for the day, my one true love.

If anyone reading this is in a Computer Science class or major, I pity the day that you are assigned the "binary bomb" assignment. It's been driving me up the wall. It's something equivalent to living hell. (possible overstatement, but IDGAF). It's been staring me in the face for the past 12 days, it's due at midnight, and I'm only halfway done.

I drove home last night really late, and I got into my car after the snowfall and my windshield was just a sheet of ice. L - O- effing - L. this genius student in the northeast doesn't own an ice scraper. So I sat in my car for 20 minutes while it thawed. Cause I'm a jackass.
yep. ice.

I went to bed starving last night. I actually gave myself a spoon full of peanut butter in bed because it was all I had in my room and I was that hungry. No shame.

My roommate got her nose pierced out of nowhere, for no real reason. But she looks twice as badass now. Speaking of Fiene, she wakes up about five minutes after my alarm goes off (7:30) and says in a panic, "don't you have an 8am today!?" ... yea.. "well, when are you planning on getting up!?" uhm. now.. its 7:35.. "oh. ok. Shit. my alarm was supposed to go off at 7:15 not 8:15" ... hahah fiene is having some really interesting mornings lately. Mornings in our room are never normal. and neither are nights, for that matter. We dream the weirdest shit, and it usually involves one another. Sometimes she'll hear me laugh in my sleep, and sometimes I'll hear her talking or like.. wimpering. "no .. no", just was exactly are you dreaming up over there Fiene? So she sleeps out two nights ago, saturday night, leaving me all alone. But last night when I was in Brodhead for a while, she snap chats me going "you're making me sleeep alone?" not fair! I eventually came home anyways.
--just got a snap chat from her (11:30am), "made it out of Iacocca alive!" Iacocca is a building on mountain top campus. I'm not sure what you were doing up there Fiene weenie, but I'm glad you're alive. now come home and nap with me already.
we think we're cooler than we are. but who cares?

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I have class from 8am - 10am, and then a glorious break from 10am - 1pm where I make full use of those three hours to nap and eat lunch. But the time leading up to lunch at noon is always a waiting game. I'm utilizing this horrific hungry waiting time to write my blog. Nicole pays me a visit, complaining about her car possibly getting towed because she left it in the faculty lot for two days while it snowed. Even though they sent us an email telling us to move our cars. Good one.

"if my car gets towed.. you know what, i'm just gonna fuckin' leave it"
"I'm going down at 1 to get my car and I'm not coming back up until.... what day is it?monday?.... forever. "
-NJ
okay Nicole. you do that.

After lunch I finally get the email that my package is here. I'M ECSTATIC. I drove Danielle, Leto, Fiene, and Nicole down to class after lunch, when they got in my car they all shouted where they wanted to go, like I was a dang taxi. No real complaints, it's just funny. I'm driving down anyway, so I don't mind. Sitting in my web applications class (1:16pm). Waiting for 2 oclock to come around so I can pick up my package. I can't even contain myself.

2pm on the dot I book it out of class (after convincing my professor with my charm and good looks that he should wait until Wednesday to assign the homework) to the post office. Alexandra, you have 1 package for pick-up. it says on the touch screen after I swipe my ID card. YOU'RE damn right I do. ugh. Next stop is CVS to buy things for people. nobody in particular. and it definitely wasn't candy or chocolate for some silly holiday coming up.

Back up the hill to open my really really really delayed christmas present! It's almost an early birthday present by now since it took months to get here. Box inside of a box (from mom) and inside of that box was so many goodies I just started crying I was so excited. and then I kept crying because I missed Mog and Hev so much. Seriously they sent me so much, too much. Sweatshirt, scarf, scottish flag, candies, coins in a coin purse, decorative socks, and letters. I can't even. You guys are the best ever in the whole world. 3,500 miles ain't got nothin on us.

tartan not plaid scarf. although its plaid.

<3 <3 ugh ahhhh. #dying

like what even is this.

Percy pig, easily the weirdest gummi candy I've ever eaten.

Now that I have the sweatshirt I can transfer there right?

I don't even know how much these are worth, but I love them anyway

colours and flavourings. lol

also, lost photos that I never blogged but meant to? While we're at it. (I just uploaded all of the pictures from my phones memory card to my computer)

Emac's birthday !!!

Hello, Soxy. hehehe.  (this is in the kitchen at the dining room tables)

Pretty sure that's everything interesting that's happened in the past, few, days? I dunno. I'm literally so happy right now, the happiest I've been in a while. Why can't I just move to the UK? thanks. I won't do it just yet, solely because of the Olympics. USA > UK, always in the olympics (overall at least. maybe some individual events, but not many).

Plans for the rest of my Monday and into Tuesday?
  • DO my binary bomb homework
  • sleep
  • eat.
  • Go to my one Tuesday class
  • sleep some more
  • eat some more
Also, there's an HTML option for writing my blog, so I just used something I learned in my Web Applications class to code in those bullets and tabbing.

*takes a bow* *claps hands* *takes another bow* *dances around* thank you, thank you. I know, I'm awesome

Since I won't be doing anything interesting, I probably won't blog unless something awesome comes up that I HAVE to tell you about. Until then, Here's another song because I can't just help myself.

maybe two ;)

Say Something

Whenever I turn on the radio, I secretly hope this song is playing. I don't know why I like it so much.

Friday, Feb 7 --

Friday played out as planned, the only noteworthy event was the sleepover at Becca and Rachel's. Becca was already asleep for most of the night, but for the other 4 of us that were there, it was hysterical. Truth or Dare (yes, girls play truth or dare at sleepovers) never gets old. Someone got put into a box, someone ran down the hallway with no pants on, someone wore a toilet paper turban, someone had to put hand soap on their tongue, somebody had to create and display three different sex moans, and a lot of truths were talked about. LOL. no words.

Saturday Feb 8 --

I told myself I would do homework all day so on Sunday I could just hangout and watch the Olympics. I lied. I lie to myself a lot, and it's mostly about what I'm going to do that day. So as you can assume, I didn't get a whole lot of work done. And it took about 5 ounces of peer pressure to get me to go out at 10:30. I decided to drive though, just to be safe. I won't delve into the details, but I ended up leaving in tears. For a few reason. The main reason is that boys are assholes. No names, but, having four different boys harassing you to making out with them or with one of your friends that's a girl did not make me feel wanted or good or happy. it made me feel really uncomfortable. Granted, I felt conflicted from the start, none of that helped.

Went home, went to bed, and watched the Olympics until 3am.

Sunday Feb 9 --

The feeling I got when my roommate walked into our room asking me 'what you did last night because everyone in the kitchen is talking about you' is not a pleasant feeling. neither is getting a text that says "[anonymous] went around bragging that he hooked up with you last night". Took a shower and stood in it for a long time just thinking. At home I do most of my quality thinking in the shower, but at school, I'm usually showering as quick as I can because it's drafty and cold and I just wanna get out. but thinking in the shower is probably a waste of water and a waste of time. but it happens anyway. oh well. Went to Brodhead to do work with gdp and tj, and to hangout with becca and rachel. Just didn't want to be in the house today really. I feel like nobody gets me, even if they say they do. Maybe one person does, maybe two. I dunno. Just how I feel.

Bex was pretty much dying in her bed when I got there. Let me show you.
that's her making love to her bottle of water.

Went to upper for dinner, it started snowing. Maybe they'll cancel classes again. Fingers are crossed. Pizza for dinner from Pandini's. Unsatisfying, but it was half-decent. When we drove to upper, when I parked my car (like a boss, btw, between a wall and another car) I had this really weird feeling. It was snowing, and when I turned the key to turn my car off, I pictured all off the snow stopping midair when I turned it off. I guess When I am in my car and I turn it off, I feel like it gets so quiet and still, so my brain made me think the snow would stop. I told Rachel that in person and she told me I was a weirdo. I am, but still.

Anyone else like watching the Olympics as much as I do? Currently watching Germany vs. Russia women's ice hockey. Love this shit. Hopefully I don't get snowed in down here, maybe I'll just sleepover here. Becca has an actual extra bed in her room. Like, she was supposed to have a roommate and they never showed up. hence, extra bed.

Tomorrow the only thing I'm looking forward to is a package that's coming from SCOTLAND. It finally finally finally arrived at my house on friday. It was mailed at the end of november. messed up, right? like it took 2+ months to get here. But I mailed them a packaged at the same time and it got there a week before Christmas. I don't get it. US customs are stricter upon receiving I suppose. SO excited. my mom mailed it out on Friday and it will get here Monday. ugh. can't wait. THANKS MOG AND HEV. Will post about it when I get it.

Alright, I'm done. Tired, gonna do more work, sleep, watch Olympics (he hehe) .

Timber

Thursday, Feb 6 ---

Like, what is this. I wish I lived in a world where this is what popular music sounded like. Way born in the wrong generation. Any generation but this one please.

First things first, Happy Birthday to two of my best friends today, Betty and Emac <3 <3

Fiene's alarm went off at 8:30 instead of 9:30 today. Fine for me because my alarm was set for 8:30 too. The weird part was she set it for 9:30. I asked her as she was setting it last night, what time are you setting your alarm for ? 9:30. It was definitely a spirit messing with us. My throat was and is so sore , last night I couldn't sleep. it feels like somebody rubbed it raw with sand paper. My cough feels like my lung is going to come up with it. Time to go to CVS and stock up on cold remedies. I'm sitting in my computer science 202 class and it's 75 minutes long. He lost my full attention around the 40 minute mark. They shouldn't even make classes over an hour long. I'm looking around the room, the kid behind me is avidly texting, the kid down the row is face first into himself sleeping, the kid infront of me (whose head was so big i had to move my seat one to the right because I couldn't see the board I'm not paying attention to but pretending to) drinks his coffee like an animal. He put his lips all over it and actually slurped it. I bet he's a really bad kisser. He has bad hair, too. and I don't like his shirt. It's maroon with blue boxes on it. just. no. Everyone in this class is coughing. and it just feels like a miserable place right now. I am so not in a "people" mood today. Don't wanna talk to you or hangout with you or look at you or deal with you. Flying solo today so I don't offend anybody. I should have a warning label taped to my forehead today does not play well with others.

Unfortunately for Becca, I invited her to CVS with me and then up to the house for lunch. Cadbury eggs purchases for me and as a surprise for Rachel :) Maybe making someone else happy will make me feel like less of a grump. All the meds I can buy and take, and I signed up for a CVS card. yes please. What does CVS stand for? let's find out...Consumer Value Store. it's pretty straight forward. I like it. I tweeted at Ron (our chef) to make grilled cheese for lunch. He said he didn't have enough bread to make them for everyone, but that he would still make me one. He's a great guy. After lunch I promptly passed out for four hours. Rose from the dead, decided I need to do work, and dragged myself to the library. the library always makes me feel like I'm doing work, when in reality I'm just goofing off with my friends, who are also pretending to do work with me. I'm in such a bad mood still because I'm sick, woops. sorry friends.

Stumbled upon this at the library...

After the library we had dinner at Upper. AKA reminded me of freshmen year hardcore. Odd memories. V-Day is being held at our school for today and tomorrow and a bunch of zetas were in it so we went to support them. All the proceeds go toward Turning Point of Bethlehem and V-Day to globally end domestic violence and abuse of women. Powerful cause. To all the girls who participated in the Vagina Monologues, well done!! You guys get gold medals in my book.

Back to the house, then Bex and I went to visit some freshies to take them to wawa because they're underprivledged and can't have cars, and then we cuddled for a bit while Bex chose and outfit. Time to leave the freshies celebrate Emac's birthday. won't say how, when, where, or with who, but it was fun. All that matters. Rachel in I bonded on one too many levels. LOLz.

Woke up, so tired. too tired. can't even. currently sitting in my electrical engineering class. I can't believe they even make classes this early on Fridays. Plans for the day are as follows: Class until 10, back to the house for naps and lunch, class at 1, done for the weekend. Do homework at the lib, sleep, and then have a SLEEPOVER with becca and rachel.

Church

Today has been the second day this week where I have woken up to squeals of excitement and EMERGENCY ALERT LU : emails. That's right, two snow days this week. Monday morning as soon as Fiene's alarm went off I yelled at her in a semi-conscious state "GO BACK TO SLEEP CLASSES ARE CANCELLED". I don't know why I yelled it. but I was really excited. So basically for the passed two days I've watched a lot of Dexter. Excessive amounts. and I am confused whether or not he's creepy or sexy. I'm not sure if he creeps me out or turns me on. I think it's both. Nicole is the one got me hooked on this show anyway. Dammit Nicole. I just want to catch up to her so we can watch the last season together, but I don't think I have the brain capacity nor the time to sit in front of a computer and watch Netflix for that many hours on end. But, challenge accepted.
there he is, in all his glory

thanks for "plowing", Lehigh.

Last night was interesting. Rachel was at work so it was just me and Becca hanging out in their apartment. I was too tired to function. I was in rare form last night. Becca and I learned all the countries of the world on Sporcle. It was great. and then I got really grumpy because I needed sleep so after a little tiff over her phone and a snap chat, I may or may not have pushed her off her bed. and then I felt bad about it so I went into the living room and fell asleep on the couch. then I woke up, and we went to Hawk's Nest and they didn't have milk shakes. I was SO disappointed I cried. They had ice cream with reeses pieces on them. So it wasn't horrible.
such pretty, so snow, much lehigh

Today I've continued the netflix trend, took a shower, listened to my roommate's crazy ass spirit world dreams (anybody that knows anything about spirits and demons please hit me up), and now Nicole and I ventured out into the Arctic Tundra to get dinner with our favorite two Tall Skinny Blonde Smoke Show girlfriends. No seriously, our girlfriends are hotter than yours. Hibachi Dinner for a hot date night. Kome is the place to be. The fried rice was superior to any fried rice I have ever encountered. I brought up the argument my friends at home usually get into about hibachi food being grilled or fried. Any answers for me? Anyway, I'm pretty sure everyone in there thought we were actual lesbian couples. Whoops. My favorite parts of hibachi dinners are as follows..

1.) being seated next to complete strangers for dinner.
2.) having a chinese-speaking man draw "oohs" and "ahhs" from us as he wows us with his dexterous and practiced hands, while he's probably mocking us in his head the whole time. and No, I know your name isn't "dave".
3.) the rice.

Rachel and I both got Shirley Temple sodas and tried to put her hair up with her chopsticks, me laughing like an idiot whenever she winked at me because she knows it gets to me. basically children. Becca challenged our chop stick using abilities by picking up an ice cube from her drink with it. You've had experience with chop sticks, haven't you bex? I don't even wanna know. After the waiter thought that us AND the family of four sitting next to us were both on the same check, he had to bring out another check, which we guiltily asked him to split individually four ways for us by what we ordered. Guilt lasted a whole fifteen seconds after he walked away. Sorry not sorry. We're broke. We can't just be putting that on one card, we aren't adults who have jobs and go out to dinner with each other and actually offer to pay for each other. nope. not yet. Next stop? Ice cream!!! not... maggie moo's was closed. WTF maggie moos. Get your shit together, Carol. We have 45 minutes to kill before the movie we want to see, so we buy socks at Pac Sun. They had a sale. Super. Three pairs later, it's time to see a movie we know nothing about except that it has cute actors. Large popcorn, a water bottle the size of my forearm, and a box of sour patch watermelons for Rachel and me, because yeah, we did just come from a huge dinner, and yes, we will still be hungry in ten minutes.
Nicole and I ran quick to the bathroom before the movie started. As soon as I opened the door I was taken by surprise. Like I lost control of my vocal chords. I just started yell-talking ORANGE. EVERYTHING IS SO ORANGE. so orange. it's all orange. I'm not kidding the bathroom was like, neon orange. Walls, ceilings, everything.

This picture doesn't even do the orange justice. it was GLOWING.

Laughed our asses off in the movie. Miles Teller, marry me. "I would commit polygamy with you just so we both could be married to him" .. Thanks Rach. Sister-wives, yay! ew.. not.

mmmm.
Good thing Rach parked like 500 feet from the exit so we had to trek the parking lot in the harsh cold weather. (not actually complaining, just messing with rachel). I'm really thankful to have those three as my friends. Would sort of be lost without you guys.. just saying. Ew sappy.

Time to chug some Emergen-C to try and feel better for classes tomorrow. Classes, what are those? But I'll probably end up watching too much Dexter to sleep. Or just keep myself awake coughing. Sorry in advance, Fiene.

In other news, Nicole just yawned while I was typing this earlier today, and thought it was important for the world to know.

Silver Lining

Zeta Tau Suspension, but hanging in there, taking it day by day. but according to the Kacey Musgraves, if you're ever gonna find a silver lining, it's gotta be a cloudy day. Well Zeta, this is our cloudy day. Let's never stop searching for our silver lining. and once we find it, take what you can and give nothing back.

Backtracking to before the weekend, Wednesday I told myself I would do all my work on Thursday, and Thursday I slept all day. Friday rolls around and look who still hasn't done anything. Too bad homework, I have plans. Friday night I attended one of the most fun date parties I had in all my time at Lehigh (shout out to their wicked good social chair GDP <3). I was a blind date to a boy who we can call D. D was a freshmen, but nothing less than a gentleman. Good times were had by all, and I spend the night in Becca's empty bed since she decided to leave me for the weekend.

Saturday feb 1 --
Pink out Basketball game! So despite the fact that OFSA and Lehigh have our sorority on suspension (meaning no ZTA affiliated events and such and such) they were generous enough to let us partake in one of our Pink Out basketball games. Finally we get to rep zeta proudly without the man trying to hold us back. Jokes. But in all honesty I was just glad we got to raise money for a good cause and watch Lehigh women's basketball beat BU. sucks to B-U, eh? he he he.

Immediately following the game, a few of us decide it's time to do some actual work. So guess where we spent the majority of our saturday night? That's right folks. The library. There was only us, and two other people in the whole place, and you know what? I actually got some work done. Look at that.

L-O-L moments:
"You know the inSTALLments they have posted on the inside of the bathroom stalls? Sometimes I sit there and read them and forget that I'm sitting on a toilet"
- Nicole Johnson

"I just caught myself staring at you for a solid minute and a half"
 - Nicole Johnson
We started off at the library and stayed until 6, then got RULL hungry and ate dinner at Sals. MMM pasta. Then, we went to some new coffee place next to campus square called Saxby's. Definitely the first of many times I will be going there. Back to the library to slave away.

I feel like I've gotten close with people again. Being away for the semester really made me feel out of touch, especially with my friends at school. Being back is great. I miss being surrounded by a whole bunch people I like to be around.

Around 9:30 we called it quits at the lib and decided to go down and hangout with some of our guy friends. Much needed stress reliever. Basically it was Games, nachos, mini-dance parties, pranks, a trip to wawa, a broken futon, rubber gloves filled with water and tied like a water balloon, a blow dryer, laughter.. lots of laughter, heck.. some things may have even gone missing.. just, general shenanigans that shouldn't be posted on the internet. But nonetheless, a very impromptu good time.

and for the record, I would just like to say that Becca Naurath is a damn good friend. and if anybody tells you otherwise, you direct them to me. LOVE YOU. thank you, again.

--feb 2
Wake up, time for panera. What's new. Nicole Johnson eats panera like, every day. and Becca eats Chipotle like.. $20 a week minimum. She's even thinking about applying for a job there, just for the free chipotle. hahaha. Those girls, ugh. too much for me. Anyway. Yes panera. mmmmmmm. chipotle chicken sandwich. side of choice? apple. gotta go healthy for lunch in preps for tonights superbowl feast.

we kill a few hours at the library again. In a super secret 3rd floor quiet study room. Two of our favorite gals met us to do some work, whom I miss so much and I loved spending time with you today. <3 <3 <3 Sleepover soon, I promise. Pinky promise. and cuddles. all the cuddles ever.

Leave the library in time for dinner at the house before heading down to watch the Superbowl. Unfortunately for me I was rooting for Denver, and Becca got to rub it in all night while the Sea Hawks demolished them in every. single. quarter. right thru until the end. It was a pathetic show of events. But hey, it was held in New Jersey ma fuckas! get at us. We don't even have a football team, and we hosted the super bowl. Questions, comments, concerns? take them somewhere else cause I don't wanna hear em. Lots of debauchery happened tonight, none that should be written about on the internet. but I managed to eat three slices of pizza, and it was delicious. Boys are silly and girls are silly and when they get together it's just a good time. I don't care what you say.

Everyone went home after the game, I dropped off becca at her apt. and decided to go inside to see Rachel cause she left this weekend too. Betch. She was on edge ALL DAY and didn't want to be touched, so that made me want to bother her even more. It was actually hilarious, for me anyway. She wanted to beat the shit out of me. But I love you and I'm sorry I love you and love to bother you. But you made it so easy. Hawks nest for milk shakes? yes please. haven't had one of those in AGES. dear god it was delicious. like jesus in liquid form. So good. chocolate. mmmm. food. ugh.

Time to go to sleep. good night sleep tight love you <3
OH make sure you look for your silver linings this week, but remember that they don't come without cloudy days.

yeh.
ok.

ps. did not spell check or go back and reread so hop off my dick.
